Pinnick Appointed As Member Of FIFA Organizing Committee For Competitions

World football ruling body, FIFA, has named the President of Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, into one of its most important committees – the Organising Committee for Competitions. 

Hitherto, the world body had different committees for organization of its several competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Confederations Cup, FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFA U20 World Cup, FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, FIFA U17 World Cup, FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. 

NFF Rejects Offer To Host CAF U-17

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) may have turned down a request from the Confederation of African Football, CAF to bail it out and host the 2017 edition of the African U-17 Championship.

FIFA Pegs Annual Grant To NFF Over “traces of corruption”

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have been hit by the hammer of world football governing body, FIFA announced they have stopped their annual $1.5 development grant after they found “traces of corruption” in how previous monies have been spent by the NFF. FIFA went further to issue the NFF a FINAL warning “to straighten their financial records”.

Nigeria Can Win 2018 World Cup Says Akinwunmi

Vice President of NFF Seyi Akinwunmi has boasted that Nigeria can win the World Cup in Russia in 2018.

According to him,”We are entering the new year with the spirit of optimism. I believe that this year will be a good one for us.

“We have a few plans for the New Year. We’ve been blessed that we have a coach who shares our views. We are also lucky that even though we won’t be in Gabon for the Nations Cup, we have the coach there to check on our World Cup qualifying opponents which we believe will be a blessing for us.
