Leicester forward, Ahmed Musa would have announced his international retirement after he was removed as the national team vice-captain if not for the intervention of President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick and Tianjin Teda star Mikel Obi.

The relative peace in the national team since coach Gernot Rohr took over last year was threatened when the German tactician announced that Ogenyi Onazi and not Musa was now the Super Eagles assistant captain and would lead the squad out against Senegal in an international friendly.

Tianjin TEDA were losers yet again in their test match as they continue preparations for action in the Chinese Super League as Dinano Bucharest pipped them by a lone goal on Tuesday.

This is the third straight defeat for Tianjin TEDA who are hoping to mount some form of credible challenge when action resumes in the CSL.

Mikel Makes First Appearance With Tianjin TEDA

Eagles captain, Mikel Obi made his first appearance for Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda in a friendly loss to Bundesliga side Borussia M’gladbach ll.

The Ex Chelsea midfielder who joined the club on a £140k-per-week deal was all smiles as the team posed for a photograph before kickoff. 

Tianjin TEDA held on 1-1 at half-time but eventually lost 2-1 to the Bundesliga outfit. The visitors had shot into the lead in the 10th minute before Tianjin Teda hit an equalizer 14 minutes later.
