Mikekl Obi In Another Loss With Tianjin TEDA

Tianjin TEDA were losers yet again in their test match as they continue preparations for action in the Chinese Super League as Dinano Bucharest pipped them by a lone goal on Tuesday.

This is the third straight defeat for Tianjin TEDA who are hoping to mount some form of credible challenge when action resumes in the CSL.

Aside Mikel, the Chinese outfit have made a couple of other signings to help bolster their team.

Only recently, Mikel claimed there are high standards at Tianjin TEDA suggesting that there are no differences with the big Euro clubs.

Mikel Obi Nets 1st Goal For Tianjin TEDA

Obi who recently signed a three-year deal with the ambitious Chinese side after spending over a decade at Stamford Bridge appears to have settled down quickly at his new club and he is already proving to be a quality addition to the club.

John Obi Mikel has revealed that his move to Chinese side Tianjin TEDA was inspired by his wish to keep a shirt with the Eagles. 

The Eagles captain had already stopped playing full time for the Super Eagles while several pundits have expressed concern that his inability to command a playing role might lead to a loss in form.

Eagles technical director, Gernot Rohr has also supported Mikel's move to Tianjin TEDA.

Mikel Makes First Appearance With Tianjin TEDA

Eagles captain, Mikel Obi made his first appearance for Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda in a friendly loss to Bundesliga side Borussia M’gladbach ll.

The Ex Chelsea midfielder who joined the club on a £140k-per-week deal was all smiles as the team posed for a photograph before kickoff. 

Tianjin TEDA held on 1-1 at half-time but eventually lost 2-1 to the Bundesliga outfit. The visitors had shot into the lead in the 10th minute before Tianjin Teda hit an equalizer 14 minutes later.

Mikel Obi Set For Medical With Chinese Team Tianjin TEDA

John Mikel Obi is set to undergo a medical on Thursday as he nears a move to Chinese Super League side Tianjin TEDA.

Mikel, 29, has been offered around £140,000 per week to become the latest player to swap Europe for the riches of Asia's emerging football market.

The Nigeria international has held talks with Valencia, while Marseille and Inter Milan have also shown interest, but Tianjin are now at the front of the queue.
