Mikel Makes First Appearance With Tianjin TEDA

Eagles captain, Mikel Obi made his first appearance for Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda in a friendly loss to Bundesliga side Borussia M’gladbach ll.

The Ex Chelsea midfielder who joined the club on a £140k-per-week deal was all smiles as the team posed for a photograph before kickoff. 

Tianjin TEDA held on 1-1 at half-time but eventually lost 2-1 to the Bundesliga outfit. The visitors had shot into the lead in the 10th minute before Tianjin Teda hit an equalizer 14 minutes later.

Borrusia were the better side in the second half and their  pressure paid off as they grabbed the second goal in the 80th minute to seal the win. At the end of the match Tinjin had 70% of the total possesion.
